STANDARDS OF CONDUCT

| Minor misbehavior that impedes
orderly classroom procedures or interferes with the orderly operation of the school. This
misbehavior can usually be handled by an individual staff member but sometimes requires
the intervention of other school support personnel. Students may be spoken to by school staff for the following:
* No tube tops, net tops, halter tops, pajamas, plunging necklines (front and/or back), see-through garments, extremely brief garments, spaghetti straps, and or bare midriffs. Hats (except for medical or religious purpose) may not be worn in classrooms. Underwear should not be visible. Clothing should not include words or images that are vulgar, obscene, libelous, or denigrating to others on account of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability. Clothing should not promote and/or endorse the use of alcohol, tobacco or illegal drugs and/or encourage other illegal or violent activities. Footwear that is a safety hazard will also not be allowed. |
Frequent or serious misbehavior
which disrupts the learning climate of the class and/or school. Continuation of Level I
misbehavior requires the intervention of the principal, school counselor and/or
psychologist because the execution of Level I disciplinary options failed to correct the
situation. Students may be assigned a recess and/or lunch detention and parents may be contacted for the following:
Radios, CD players, tape machines, beepers, cell phones, Gameboys, and any other electronic devices are not permitted on school property. Dangerous or inappropriate behavior on buses may result in a suspension of transportation services. |
Acts that may be directed against
a person or property that have the potential of endangering the health or safety of others
in the school. Continuation of Level II misbehavior requires the intervention of the
principal, guidance counselor and/or psychologist because the execution of Level II
disciplinary options failed to correct the situation. Students may receive in-school suspension and parents will be contacted for the following:
* A substance or object, although not illegal, that is potentially harmful or disruptive |
Acts that may be directed against
a person or property that have the potential of seriously endangering the health or safety
of others in the school. Continuation of Level III misbehavior requires the intervention
of the principal, guidance counselor and/or psychologist because the execution of Level
III disciplinary options failed to correct the situation Students may receive out-of-school suspension and parents will be contacted for the following:
